Thomas More College junior guard D'Carlo Hayes was tabbed as the league’s Player of the Year, while the Saints fourth-year head coach Jeff Rogers was voted the conference’s Coach of the Year. Geneva College and 17th year head coach Jeff Santarsiero were awarded with the PAC Sportsmanship Award. The PAC Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams are voted on by each of the league's nine head coaches. Hayes’ steady play this season helped Thomas More (23-5) earn the number two seed in the 2013 PAC Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament, where the Saints fell in the title game to top-seeded Saint Vincent College (23-5) 81-67 Saturday night. Hayes finished with 14 points in the championship game loss. Hayes concluded the season ninth in the league while leading his Saints program in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game. He also finished sixth in the league in steals (51, 1.8 steals per game) and ninth in free throw percentage (77.6%, 152-of-196). The Saints finished the 2012-13 season leading the conference in scoring (77.8 points per game), field goal percentage (44.4%) and assists (14.2 assists per game), while finishing second in steals (12.3 steals per game) and three-point field goals made (8.1 made per game) and sixth in scoring defense (69.0 points per game). Rogers, who was also tabbed as the 2012 PAC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year, guided the Saints to their second-straight 20-plus win season and the program’s third such season in his four years as head coach.
