Thomas More picked as PAC softball favorite 2/12/2016 10:26:14 AM GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released the results of the 2016 PAC Preseason Softball Coaches' Poll, along with its Players to Watch list, on Friday. Thomas More College and eighth-year head coach Lindsay Bramhall were picked as the preseason favorite to repeat as the winner of year's championship tournament title. The preseason poll collects votes from each of the conference's 10 head coaches. Thomas More, picked first in the preseason coaches’ poll for the third-straight season, won its second PAC Championship Tournament title in the last three seasons last year. The Saints entered the tournament as the number two seed and posted a 2-1 victory over top-seeded Bethany College in the tournament's championship round. The Saints collected 92 total points and four of the league's 10 first-place votes. They finished the 2015 season 27-13 and received the conference’s automatic qualifying bid to their third-straight NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, going 1-2 at the DePauw University Regional. Bethany, last year’s PAC regular-season champion, was picked second, finishing with 87 points and three first-place votes. Saint Vincent College finished third on the preseason poll, totaling 77 points and one first-place vote. Washington & Jefferson College, winners of the 2014 PAC Championship Tournament title, was fourth with 73 points and collected the final two first-place votes. Westminster College was selected fifth with 63 points, followed by Geneva College in sixth (46), Thiel College in seventh (41) and Grove City College in eighth (37). Waynesburg University (27) and Chatham University (10) finished ninth and 10th, respectively. The 2016 PAC Softball Championship Tournament will be held Friday-Saturday, May 6-7.
