(pacathletics.org) – The men's athletic program at Washington & Jefferson College and women's athletic program at Grove City College captured their respective Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) All-Sports Trophies for the 2015-16 academic year. The all-sports trophies are annually awarded to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. First-place finishes are worth 10 points, second place is worth nine points ... last place is worth one point. After a fourth-place finish in 2014-15, W&J claimed outright its 10th PAC All-Sports Trophy since 2004-05 and have won or tied for the top spot in 11 of the last 12 years. W&J used a runner-up finish in baseball, a fourth-place showing in men’s tennis and fifth-place finishes in golf and outdoor track and field to secure this year’s men’s trophy. The Presidents totaled 76 points in the league’s 11 championship sports. Grove City (73 pts.) finished second with 73 points. The Wolverines claimed spring PAC titles in golf and men’s tennis and posted a third-place finish in outdoor track and field to secure their best finish in the All-Sports Trophy standings since earning runner-up honors in 2012-13. Saint Vincent College was third (70.5 pts.), Westminster College fourth (68 pts.), Thomas More College fifth (59.5 pts.), Bethany College sixth (57.5 pts.), Thiel College seventh (51 pts.), Waynesburg University eighth (47 pts.), Geneva College ninth (43.5 pts.) and Chatham University 10th (5 pts.). Grove City led wire-to-wire in the women’s race to secure its fourth-straight PAC All-Sports Trophy. The Wolverines have been among the top two finishers in each of the last seven years. A third-place finish in outdoor track and field and fourth-place showing in golf helped Grove City best runner-up Thomas More. Grove City totaled 76 points in the league’s 10 championship sports. Thomas More’s second-place finish is the school’s top performance in the All-Sports Trophy race since joining the league in 2005-06. The Saints posted a second-place finish in golf and third-place showing in softball to total 69 points. Westminster was third with 68 points. W&J finished fourth (63.5 pts.), Saint Vincent fifth (57.5 pts.), Waynesburg sixth (53 pts.), Geneva seventh (49 pts.), Bethany eighth (44 pts.), Thiel ninth (33 pts.) and Chatham 10th (20 pts.).
