CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. (pacathletics.org) – The Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its 2017-18 All-PAC Women’s Basketball teams and yearly award winners between championship tournament semifinal games Friday evening at top-seeded Thomas More College's Connor Convocation Center.

The all-conference teams, as well as the PAC's yearly award winners, are determined, by vote, of the league’s 10 head coaches.

Thomas More junior guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio | Anderson) was voted the league’s Player of the Year while Grove City College senior guard Lexie Arkwright (Mercer, Pa. | Mercer)was recognized as the PAC's Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight year.

Washington & Jefferson College freshman guard Lauren Gilbert (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Baldwin) collected the PAC’s Freshman of the Year award and W&J 14th-year head coach Jina DeRubbo was voted the PAC’s Coach of the Year.

Currently fifth in the league in scoring average (17.2) and seventh in rebounding average (7.0), Temple ranks first in the PAC and third among NCAA Division III counterparts in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.2), leads the league and ranks 20th in Division III in assists (134) and is second in the conference and 18th in Division III in field goal percentage (56.1%). She is also second in the PAC in three-point field goal percentage (45.0%) and sixth in made three-point field goals (49).

Temple is a two-time All-PAC First Team (2017, 2018) selection. She earned Second Team All-PAC honors and was tabbed the league's Freshman of the Year in 2016. Temple currently ranks fifth in Thomas More program history in assists (362) and eighth in scoring (1,263).

Arkwright is third in the league in steals (73) and sixth in blocks (29) while ranking second in scoring average (18.4), third in three-pointers made (62), fourth in three-point field goal percentage (38.8%) and tied for ninth in assists (66). She ranks third in Grove City program history with 330 career steals, is third in career points (1,572) and fourth in blocked shots (124). She established a program record with 109 steals during the 2016-17 season.

Arkwright was named an All-PAC Honorable Mention in 2016 before earning first team honors in 2017 and 2018.

Gilbert ranks 12th in the circuit in scoring average (13.0) and seventh in both three-pointers made (43) and assists (67). She is W&J's first player to earn the Freshman of the Year award since Leigh Sulkowski was named the league's Player of the Year as well as Freshman of the Year in 2002-03.

The coach of the year award is DeRubbo’s seventh overall and third while at W&J. She helped W&J earn a spot in this year’s PAC Championship Tournament semifinal round for the sixth-straight season and has totaled 11 seasons with 20 or more victories since taking over the program in 2004-05.

DeRubbo became the first basketball coach -- men's or women's -- in PAC history to reach 400 coaching wins entirely as a PAC and NCAA Division III member after picking up an 86-53 win over Chatham University on January 6 this year.
