Cory Blackson
has been named the new head men's golf coach at Thomas More,
replacing Marc Barone. Blackson, who is entering his
third year as sports information director at TMC, inherits a
team that is coming off its best season in school history as it
won the 2010 PAC Championship and finished tied for 22nd at the
NCAA Division III Championship. He previously served as the
assistant men's golf coach at Capital University

cut after the second day of competition at the
2010 NCAA Division III Men's Golf
Championships in Hershey, Pa. TMC fired a four-man total of 304
(18 strokes better than its day one total of 322) for a 36-hole
total of 626.

Thomas More College men's golf team is tied for 24th place after
the first day of competition at the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's
Golf Championships in Hershey, Pa. TMC fired a four-man total of
322, led by junior Brandon Dulle with a 78, good for a tie
for 65th place in individual competition. The Saint linksters tee
off for the second round at 7 a.m. Wednesday, with the top 23 teams
making the cut after 36 holes.

THOMAS MORE WINS 2010 PAC CHAMPIONSHIP (4/20/10)
The 2010 PAC Men's Golf Championships
concluded on Tuesday, April 20, at Oak Tree Country Club in West
Middlesex, Pa., with Thomas More College clinching its
first-ever conference golf crown. The Saints fired a 36-hole
total of 313-299-612, which coupled with a 599 at the
PAC Fall
Invitational resulted in a 72-hole score of 1211, 16 strokes
ahead of four-time defending PAC champion Washington & Jefferson
(1227). Thomas More head coach Marc Barone was honored as
2010 PAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the
tournament. In individual competition, junior Ted Marron
of W&J earned 2010 PAC MVP honors after firing a 36-hole
total of 72-72-144 (+2), three strokes ahead of Saint Vincent
senior teammates Jeff Varga and Doug Mehall (147).

W&J TIGHTENS RACE FOR 2010 PAC GOLF TITLE (4/19/10)
The first round of play at the 2010 PAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships
took place this Monday, April 19, at Oak Tree Country Club in
West Middlesex, Pa. Trailing Thomas More by 26 strokes after the
36-hole PAC Fall Invitational (which counts for one half of the
72-hole total which decided the 2009-10 PAC team champion),
defending PAC champion Washington & Jefferson was able to cut
into the Saints lead by firing a four-man total of 304, nine
strokes ahead of TMC (313). The Presidents now trail Thomas More
by 17 strokes (912-929) entering tomorrow's final round. NCAA
D-III provisional member Saint Vincent led all teams with a
four-man total of 302. In individual competition, Ted Marron
of W&J and Jeff Varga of Saint Vincent are tied for
the lead after both shot an one-over-par 72, followed by SVC's
Doug Mehall at 73 (+2). Complete Day

Golf Championships gets underway at Oak Tree Tuesday afternoon

2010 PAC CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BEGIN MONDAY (4/18/10)
The 2010 PAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships will
take place this Monday-Wednesday, April 19-21, at Oak Tree
Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa. The men play Monday (tee
times start at 10 a.m.) and Tuesday (8:30 a.m.), while the women
tee it up Tuesday (1 p.m.) and Wednesday (8:30 a.m.). The
36-hole event will be added to the
men's
and
women's results of the 36-hole PAC
Fall Golf Invitational for a 72-hole score to determine the team
champion. Washington & Jefferson is the defending champion for
both men and women, however, Thomas More holds a 27-stroke lead
over the President men after the two fall rounds. In women's
action, W&J leads Westminster by two strokes after fall play.
Individual All-PAC teams will be determined exclusively by this
week's 36-hole event. Day one tee times for
men (Monday) and
women (Tuesday) are now online, while complete team and

W&J'S CIESLINSKI CAPTURES REGIONAL TITLE (4/6/10)
Washington & Jefferson junior golf standout Brad
Cieslinski
captured the individual medalist title Monday at the NCAA
Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional on Monday in Hershey, Pa.
Cieslinski, who is the first-ever W&J and PAC golfer to win
regional medalist honors, fired a two-day, 36-hole total of
75-71-146 to win by three strokes. W&J finishes fourth in team
competition with a 309-311-620.

The 2009 PAC Men's Golf Fall
Invitational concluded on Tuesday, September 29 in rainy
conditions at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa.
Thomas More swept the team and individual awards, with the
Saints firing a four-man total of 293-306-599 to lead second
place Washington & Jefferson (312-314-626) by 27 strokes. The
Saints also posted the top two individual finishers, as medalist
Joe Ruzick (68-73-141, -1) topped teammate Brandon
Dulle (71-74-145, +3) by four strokes. The
PAC Fall Invitational counts towards one half of the 72-hole
total used to determine the 2009-10 PAC champion, with the final
36 holes to be played at Oak Tree in April 2010.

blustery conditions at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex,
Pa. Thomas More is in control halfway through the 36-hole
event, as the Saints fired a four-man total of 293 to lead
second place Washington & Jefferson (312) by 19 strokes. Leading
the way for the Saints is senior Joe Ruzick, who fired a
68 (-3) to lead teammate Brandon Dulle (71, E) by three
strokes on the individual leaderboard.
Tee times for the second and final men's round on Tuesday are
now online, as are the
first day tee times for the PAC Women's Golf Fall Invitational,
scheduled to tee of at Oak Tree Tuesday beginning at 1 p.m. The

women (Tuesday) at the 36-hole 2009 PAC Fall Golf Invitational,
scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 28-30 at Oak Tree Country
Club in West Middlesex, Pa., are now online. The team scores at
the fall invitational count towards one half of the 2009-10 PAC
championship, with the final 36 holes scheduled for the spring
at Oak Tree.
W&J FINISHES 14TH AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP
The PAC champion Washington & Jefferson men's golf team
posted the best national finish in PAC golf history on May 16, as the
Presidents finished in 14th place at the 72-hole
NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships in Port
St. Lucie, Fla. W&J fired a four-day total of
304-294-309-318-1225 (+73) to finish 61 strokes behind champion
Oglethorpe (1164, +12). Leading the Presidents at the four-day
event was Brad Cieslinski (+13) and John Williams
(+15).

W&J IN 12TH PLACE AFTER DAY THREE AT NCAAs
The PAC champion Washington & Jefferson men's golf team
is currently in 12th place after 54 holes of play at the 72-hole
NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships, scheduled for May
13-16 in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The Presidents fired a four-man
score of 309 on Friday to drop one spot from Thursday's
11th-place standing. Brad Cieslinski paced W&J on Friday
with a 75 (+3). The NCAA will be providing
live hole-by-hole coverage of the final day of the event via Golfstat
on Saturday, with W&J tee times beginning at 8:20 a.m. .
W&J MAKES CUT, MOVES UP TO 11TH AT NCAAs
The PAC champion Washington & Jefferson men's golf team
made a big move in the second round of
competition Thursday at the 72-hole
NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships, scheduled for May
13-16 in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The Presidents fired a four-man
score of 294 (+6) to move up from 21st place after 18 holes to a
tie for 11th place after 36 holes with 598 (+22), 23 strokes
behind first-place La Verne (575, -1). W&J's round of 294 was
the fourth-best round out of 36 teams competing at the
championship and ensured the Presidents made the cut for the
final 36 holes this weekend. Pacing W&J on day two was senior
Ryan Bashour with a career-best 71 (-1).

competition Wednesday at the 72-hole
NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships, scheduled for May
13-16 in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The Presidents fired a four-man
score of 304 (+16) and are 25 strokes behind team leader
Methodist (279, -9). W&J was led by Brad Cieslinski with
a 1-over par 73, good for a tie for 32nd place on the individual
leaderboard.
W&J SWEEPS 2009 PAC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2009 PAC Men's Golf Championships
and 2009 PAC Women's Golf Championships
each concluded at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa.,
on
Tuesday, April 21, with Washington & Jefferson College capturing
both team titles. The men's race saw W&J fire a 36-hole total of
307-300-607, giving the Presidents a 28-stroke victory over
second-place Thomas More (1212) in the 72-hole championship,
which includes 36 holes played in September at the PAC Fall
Invitational. Medalist honors went to Saint Vincent's Doug
Mehall with an even-par 72-70-142. PAC MVP honors went to
Joe Ruzick of Thomas More, who won a sudden death playoff
with W&J's Brad Cieslinski after both fired a 36-hole
total of 147. On the women's side, both W&J and Grove City fired
18-hole totals of 368, but the Presidents captured the title via
a 54-hole score (including fall scores) of 1076, 53 strokes
ahead of the Wolverines (1129). The final women's 18-hole round,
scheduled for Wednesday, was canceled due to poor weather. W&J
junior Leslie Walker earned MVP honors for the second
straight year after carding an 84 Tuesday. At the conclusion of
the tournament, W&J first-year mentor Sean Dove earned
PAC Coach of the Year laurels for both men and women.
PAC FALL GOLF A PRESIDENTIAL AFFAIR: WILLIAMS, W&J MEN WIN 2008
TITLES
The 2008 PAC Fall Golf Invitational turned into a Presidential
affair at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa., on Tuesday,
September 30, as the Washington & Jefferson Presidents dominated
play in both men's & women's action. The
36-hole men's tournament concluded
with W&J firing a 285-292-577, 24 strokes ahead of second place
Westminster (601). In addition, John Williams of W&J took
medalist honors with a 71-68-139. The PAC Fall Golf Invitational counts for
half of the 2008-09 PAC golf championship, with the final 36 holes
to take place at Oak Tree in April 2009.
