WC'S LEHBERGER PLACES FOURTH IN 100 BREAST; GCC 800 FREE
RELAY PLACES 5TH ON DAY 3 OF NCAAs (3/19/10)
The All-America honors continued to roll in for PAC swimmers
on the third day of competition at the four-day
NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, taking
place at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn.
Westminster sophomore Caitlin Lehberger earned her second
NCAA All-America laurel in as many events by placing fourth in
the 100 breaststroke in a school-record time of 1:03.79. Joining
her in earning NCAA All-America status was the Grove City 800
freestyle relay team, which finished fifth overall in 7:30.03.
In addition, Titan junior Courtney Herdt, WC senior
Ben Gutmann and GCC freshman Kaitlin Riesmeyer all
earned CSCAA All-America recognition with Top 16 individual
finishes. The

GCC RELAY HIGHLIGHTS DAY TWO OF NCAA MEET (3/18/10)
The Grove City women's swimming and diving team produced
several outstanding efforts Thursday night in the second day of
action at the
NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the
University of Minnesota. Grove City's 200 free relay squad
earned All-America honors by placing seventh overall. The team
of freshman Jenny Ryan, junior Lauren Baur, junior
Sarah Page and freshman Angela Palumbo posted a
school-record time of 1:35.35. Ryan's leadoff time of 24.04 is
also the fastest 50-yard free time in program history. All three
Westminster swimmers were off Thursday and return to action on
Friday. The

WC'S LEHBERGER, GCC RELAY TEAM EARN ALL-AMERICA HONORS ON DAY
1 OF 2010 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS (3/17/10)
The first day of the
2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships
in Minneapolis is in the books, with Westminster sophomore
Caitlin Lehberger and the Grove City women's 200 medley
relay team each earning All-America recognition. Lehberger
placed fourth in the 200 individual medley with a school-record
time of 2:04.15 to become the first-ever NCAA All-American for
the Titans, and the first All-American women's swimmer overall
at the school since 1993. The GCC women's 200 medley relay team,
consisting of freshmen Jenny Ryan, Angela
Palumbo, and Kaitlin Riesmeyer and junior Sarah
Page placed 16th in that event with a time of 1:48.51 to
earn CSCAA All-America recognition. Several other PAC swimmers
competed on day one, with complete

Westminster recaps now online. NINE QUALIFY FOR 2010 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS (3/8/10)
Nine PAC swimming standouts, including six from PAC champion
Grove City and three from Westminster, have qualified for and will
compete in the
2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, to be
held March 17-20 in Minneapolis, Minn. For the Wolverines,
juniors Lauren Baur
and Sarah Page, sophomore Jenna Richert, and
freshmen Angela Palumbo, Kaitlin Riesmeyer and
Jenny Ryan
will represent Grove City at the 2010 Championships. Grove
City's 200 and 800 free relay squads both received invitations to
the NCAA Championships. Because those two units received
invitations, the participating members can also compete in events in
which they provisionally qualified.
For Westminster, junior
Courtney Herdt of the women's team was the one
Titan swimmer who made the cut with a provisional qualifying time,
joining senior Ben Gutmann of the men's team and
sophomore Caitlin Lehberger of the women's team who
already had their tickets punched with automatic qualifying times.
2010 ALL-PAC TEAMS RELEASED (2/24/10)
The PAC has released the 2010
Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving All-Conference Teams. The
All-PAC honors are awarded based on the cumulative individual
results at the 2010 PAC Swimming &
Diving Championships, held at Grove City College on Feb.
18-20.
GROVE CITY SWEEPS 2010 PAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Grove City Wolverines swept the
men's and women's team titles following the final day of
competition at the three-day
2010 PAC Swimming & Diving
Championships, hosted by the Wolverines at the Longnecker Competition Pool
in Grove City, Pa., as part of the 2010 Grove City College (GCC)
Invitational. The Wolverine men finished with 963.5 points to
capture their third consecutive PAC title, easily outdistancing
second-place Westminster (734.5). The GCC women posted 862.5
points for their second straight PAC crown, with Westminster
(674.5) again in second. Award winners

GROVE CITY MEN & WOMEN BOTH HOLD TEAM LEADS AFTER SECOND
DAY OF 2010 PAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The defending PAC champion Grove City Wolverines lead the
men's and women's team standings following day two of the three-day
2010 PAC Swimming & Diving
Championships. The championship is taking place at the Longnecker Competition Pool on the campus of Grove City
in Grove City, Pa., on Friday, February
19, as part of the 2010 Grove City College (GCC) Invitational.
The Wolverine men finished day two with 634 points and hold a
comfortable lead over second place Westminster (466). After
ending day one in third place in team competition, the GCC women
moved into first place with 532 points, narrowly ahead of both
Westminster (470.5) and Washington & Jefferson (436.5). The
final day of action takes
place on Saturday (Feb. 20), with preliminary rounds beginning at
10 a.m. and finals starting at 5:30 p.m. A

GROVE CITY MEN, W&J WOMEN LEAD AFTER FIRST DAY OF 2010 PAC SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The first day of competition at the three-day
2010 PAC Swimming & Diving
Championships took place at the Longnecker Competition Pool on the campus of Grove City
College in Grove City, Pa., on Thursday, February
18, as part of the 2010 Grove City College (GCC) Invitational.
After the opening day, the host Wolverines lead the men's race
with 299 points, ahead of second-place Westminster (204). In
women's competition, Washington & Jefferson narrowly leads a
close three-team race with 218.5 points, just in front of
Westminster (200) and Grove City (186). Day two action takes
place on Friday (Feb. 19), with preliminary rounds beginning at
10 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.
GROVE CITY TO HOST 2010 PAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (2/17/10)
The 2010 PAC Swimming &
Diving Championships will take place on the campus of Grove
City College in Grove City, Pa., on Thursday-Saturday, February
18-20, as part of the 2010 Grove City College (GCC)
Invitational. Preliminary rounds begin each day at 10 a.m.,
while championship finals begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday
and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The host Wolverines of head coach
Dave Fritz are the defending team champions for both men and
women. Admission prices are $3 for preliminary rounds, $5 for
championship rounds and $4 for heat sheets.
PAC SAAC REP SIMPSON NAMED USOC LIAISON
Former Westminster College swimmer
Conor Simpson
has been chosen to serve as the NCAA Division III
student-athlete representative for the United States Olympic
Committee (USOC). Simpson was one of three NCAA student-athletes
- one from Divisions I, II and III - selected to serve a
one-year term ending in May 2010. Simpson was selected to the
committee while attending the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee (SAAC) meeting in Denver in July as a representative
of the PAC and the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC). His duties
for the United States Olympic Committee begin in September.
GCC'S COURAGE WINS NATIONAL TITLE IN 100 FREESTYLE ON FINAL
DAY OF NCAA NATIONALS
Grove City College senior
Caleb Courage
captured the NCAA Division III national title in the 100
freestyle on Saturday night to highlight the final day of
action at the
2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship in
Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday, March 21.
It is Courage's
third career title in that event. Courage posted a victorious
time of 43.62 seconds in the championship heat. In the
preliminaries, Courage established a new Division III record in
the 100 free with a time of 43.60. Courage won the 100 free
national title as a sophomore in 2006. In 2007, he successfully
defended his NCAA crown in the 100 freestyle. Courage spent the
2007-08 academic year in training for the United States Olympic
Trials. In team competition,
Grove City finished in sixth place among men's teams with

GCC'S COURAGE PACES PAC ON DAY THREE OF NCAA D-III SWIMMING &
DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The
2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship is one
day away from completion following events on Friday, March 20.
On the men's side, the top conference finisher was
Grove City senior Caleb Courage, who also earned
All-America honorable mention recognition after finishing
10th in the 100 backstroke in 50.46. In team competition,
Grove City is in sixth place among men's teams with 114
points.
GCC MEN IN FIFTH PLACE, TWO RELAYS EARN A-A HONORS ON DAY TWO
OF NCAA D-III NATIONALS
The
2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship is
halfway complete following events on Thursday, March 19. At the
conclusion of the second day of competition at the four-day
event,
Grove City is in fifth place in men's team competition with 97
points. A pair of Grove City relay teams earned All-America
honors, as the Wolverine 200 freestyle relay was third
(1:21.08) while the GCC 400 medley relay was eighth (3:25.32).
The top Grove City individual performer was Peter Larsen,
who placed 24th in the 100 butterfly.
PAC SWIMMERS POST SOLID FINISHES ON DAY ONE OF THE 2009 NCAA
D-III CHAMPIONSHIPS
The first day of competition at the
2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on
March 18 is in the books, with several PAC student-athletes
posting stellar performances. Highlighting the opening day of
action was
the Grove City senior duo of Caleb Courage and
Tim Whitbeck, who finished second (19.97) and third
(20.03), respectively, to earn All-America honors in the 50
freestyle. Other day one GCC individual finishers included
Ben Bowser (19th in 200 IM) and Kirk Gagliado (36th
in 50 freestyle). In relay action, the Grove City men posted a
12th-place finishes in the 200 medley relay.
PAC HAS 11 STUDENT-ATHLETES QUALIFY TO COMPETE AT 2009 NCAA
MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS
A conference-record 15 PAC student-athletes (11 men, four
women) have qualified for and been selected to compete at the
2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships,
scheduled for March 18-21, 2009 at the University of Minnesota
Aquatics Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Leading the way was PAC champion Grove City, which will send 11
men's swimmers and divers to the meet, led by former
national champions Caleb Courage and Tim Whitbeck.

The 2009 All-PAC Men's & Women's
Swimming & Diving Teams, based on performances at the 2009
PAC Championships at Grove City College on Feb. 12-14, are now

GROVE CITY SWEEPS 2009 PAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2009 PAC Swimming & Diving
Championships are officially in the books, with host Grove
City sweeping the men's and women's team titles. The GCC men
ended the three-day with 949 team points, comfortably ahead of
second place Westminster (805.5) as GCC captured its second
straight PAC men's team crown. The Wolverine women finished the
event with 833.5 points, edging Westminster (759.5) and
defending champion W&J (735). GCC mentor Dave Fritz
earned PAC Men's Coach of the Year laurels, while
Rob Klamut of Westminster was PAC Women's Coach of the
Year. Conference MVP laurels went to senior Caleb Courage
of Grove City for the men, while the women's award went to
Westminster seniors
Emily Dressler and Megan Mier. Complete results from

WESTMINSTER EARNS CSCAA ACADEMIC HONORS
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA)
named the Westminster College men's swimming team as a 2008 CSCAA
Academic All-America team.
Titan men's team was also honored for the 16th time. The Titan
men compiled a 3.09 cumulative grade-point average which ranked 36th
in the country.
GCC'S COURAGE COMPETES AT OLYMPIC TRIALS
Grove City College swimming standout Caleb Courage
competed at the
2008 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Neb., on July 2-4.
Courage,
who took a year off from Grove City to train for the Olympics,
posted a time of 51.80 to finish in 107th place in the 100 meter
freestyle on Wednesday, July 2. He then concluded the event with a
time of 23.31, good for 68th place, in the 50 meter freestyle on

WHITBECK PLACES THIRD IN 50 FREE, NAMED ALL-AMERICAN AT NCAA
D-III MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
Grove City College junior Tim Whitbeck
earned his seventh career NCAA All-America honor on March 20 by
placing third in the 50 freestyle at the
NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at
Miami University of Ohio. Whitbeck posted a time of 20.23 seconds in
the finals to earn third place. Washington & Lee senior Alex
Sweet won the national title with a Division III-record time of
19.85 seconds. On March 21, he finished in 30th place in the 100
backstroke in 53.35. Whitbeck will conclude the event by competing
in the 100 freestyle Saturday.
GCC'S WHITBECK SET TO DEFEND TITLE AT 2008 NCAA DIVISION III
MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS
Junior sprinter
Tim Whitbeck will represent Grove City College at the
2008 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships March
20-22 at Miami University of Ohio's Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center
in Oxford, Ohio. It is Whitbeck's third consecutive trip to the NCAA
Championships. Whitbeck is the defending NCAA Division III champion
in the 50 freestyle and is a six-time NCAA All-American. He will
compete in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke at
this year's Championships.
WC'S LEHBERGER NAMED PAC SAAC SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE MONTH FOR
FEBRUARY, 2008
The PAC has named junior men's swimming standout Chris
Lehberger of Westminster College as its
PAC Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee (SAAC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month, for February
2008.
GROVE CITY CAPTURES 2008 PAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The Grove City College men captured the team title at the
2008 PAC Swimming & Diving Championships
on February 14-16, edging defending champion Westminster by 14
points. PAC MVP honors went to Grove City junior Tim Whitbeck,
while Coach of the Year laurels were awarded to Dave Fritz of
Grove City.
